Here's to hoping everyone had a spectacular Halloween (a spectacular October for that matter!) Tomorrow is already November 1!! WHAT?! Here is a sampling of how I spent the last week. Saving my week's fabulous thrifting goodies for another post!

At the Crackle: Fire & Froth event that I won tickets to. I could sit and stare at a campfire for days on end...

Wish I could take credit for some of these Jack-O-Lanterns:
Kinda spooky!

 Carved pumpkins at home...
Pumpkin seeds in a Butterfly Gold Pyrex bowl (naturally)
It's supposed to be an owl....I guess it turned out okay?
Kenny carved a perfect Jack Skellington!
Yummy Jack-o-Lantern pizza! Can't take credit for this either...it was a Take N Bake.

Laura, Kenny and I spent Saturday night at my favorite music venue. A lot of people had good costumes...but I'm sorry- ours were the absolute best. We lost the costume contest to a group of girls dressed as traffic cones- dumb.
I owe 100% of this excellent and incredibly thrifty costume idea to Van over at Thriftcore. Everything was either thrifted or from the dollar store. And no one spent over $10 putting everything together. This may become my Halloween staple. The $100 slutty Alice costumes can suck an egg.

Fall

This was quite possibly one of the most amazing weekends, weather wise, in recent memory. 80 degrees and sunny in October- nearly unheard of!! Kenny and I got our bikes out and rode a picture perfect trail around one of Madison's smaller lakes and through a nature preserve (the UW Arboretum). The leaves were a changin' and, oh everything was just perfect!

Enjoy the fall foliage! I feel truly blessed to live in much a wonderful city. After living in Tucson, AZ for college (which I may or may not blog about at a later date) I learned that my heart is truly with the magnificent Midwest.

This was awesome- We happened upon some wild turkeys!!
Gobble, Gobble
I'm ready for Thanksgiving now!!

Even our bikes are in love!
Absolutely nothing better than capping the day off with a Schlitz and a cookie!

The Lemon Tree

Starting this blog has been on my to-do list for months. Since fall is fast approaching, I have decided to turn over a new leaf (!!) and get this thing up and running once and for all.
"The Lemon Tree," inspired by a Josh Rouse song of the same name, is my new daydream. A place for my mind to retreat. Ideally, I'd like this blog to have the same feel. A place to go to remember the simpler things is life. No complaining about work and the daily grind. Bring on the thrift store and book sale finds!!

This past weekend really got me jazzed for the change of seasons. A quick stop at an apple orchard followed by  a picnic at the winery with my sis and Kenny Ray...pure bliss!
